You’re in – you’ve successfully entolled in the “Jammers database”.

From now on you will receive newsletters and information in the official Whatsapp group about THE GRAND JAM

OFFICIAL WHATSAPP GROUP

Participating in a THE GRAND JAM concert consists of two steps:

1) Enrollment in the “Jammers database” – you’ve already completed this step

2) Register (REGISTRATION) to participate in a specific THE GRAND JAM event

Registration for the events takes place around 8 weeks before the event – you will then automatically receive an email, information in the Whatsapp group and the REGISTRATION is also mentioned on the homepage. With the REGISTRATION you are agreeing to participate in an event and as long as there are enough places, you are confirmed for the event.

You can find the song play-alongs and sheet music in the TUTORIALS (in your instrument group).

Which songs will be played at the next event is shown under the SONGS menu.

Have fun at THE GRAND JAM

Cheers, Patrik

THE HANDBOOK DRESDEN

The handbook contains a lot of useful information about taking part in THE GRAND JAM in Dresden – it is a bit of a “mixture” of German and English – but it should definitely help you to optimally prepare for THE GRAND JAM.

The manual is updated from time to time – you can always download it here.

SONGS 2024

The songs are a colorful mix of classics and current hits from rock, pop and funk/soul. THE GRAND JAM offers music for fans of all generations. The anthem of THE GRAND JAM is the song “Don’t stop believin'” by Journey, which describes in a simple way that you should always believe in your dreams.

GENERAL INFORMATION

ON-SITE LOGISTICS
We recommend bringing a trolley to move your equipment around the premises. But we will provide some trolleys / carts at the venue as well.

REHEARSALS
Practicing more than 15 songs is a big challenge. But don’t forget that we also have two days of rehearsals together before our big show on Saturday. These will help you enormously to play with each other, as well as for the purpose of getting used to the venue and adjusting to the support of the LED boards and the headphone system.

GENERAL ADVICE
On the rehearsal days you might spend many hours in the sun and have to stand a lot! Eat and drink properly and dress comfortably (comfortable shoes are highly recommended)! It is also important to wear sunscreen and wear a protective hat (headphones should fit over it).

HEADPHONES
Each jammer receives a “Silutions headphone” which allows you to hear the play-alongs (with click and cues). On the headphones you hear exactly the song for each instrument, just as you used it for practicing. All communication will go through the headphones.

IMPORTANT: Please don’t bring any radio transmiiters (e.g. for guitars) as they might interfere with our headphone-radio-system.

ELECTRICITY
Power is provided for each of the electric instruments – i.e. for guitar, bass and keyboard.  European socket.

MICROPHONES
All vocals sing into microphones which are set up in the stadium. The other instruments are either recorded directly with microphones or via overhead microphones in the sections. All microphones will be provided on site.

EQUIPMENT OVER NIGHT
The equipment stays in the stadium overnight and is of course guarded. Portable instruments, i.e. guitars, basses, wind instruments, string instruments should ideally be taken with you. All instruments and amplifiers that remain in the stadium must be packed in a watertight cover. Moisture is drawn into the stadium overnight – even if it’s not raining. This is not to be underestimated.
